About J&R Performance – Arizona’s GM Performance Enthusiasts
J&R Performance Center was founded in February 2014 by two close friends Kyle and Rick, who worked together in the performance center of a local Chevrolet dealer. For Kyle and Rick, attention to detail and quality service is paramount. And that’s what lead to J&R Performance Center opening its doors.
“After being told repeatedly to hurry through jobs or that the finished product was good enough, we finally had enough of arguing with management. Attention to detail and customer service is important. For years, we dealt with management that only cared about profit and allowed an environment of substandard quality to be routine. Kyle and I put a plan in place to provide the highest quality product available in the Phoenix area.
Kyle and I have been GM Performance enthusiasts since high school. Having owned and built many Performance cars it was only logical for us to go out and do what we do best.”

Kyle is an ASE and GM certified technician who attended UTI and graduated at the top of his class. He’s been working as a Technician since March of 2001 and along the way has built several cars for himself and many friends. Kyle has a very strong following amongst the 4th gen F-body, GTO and the V1 crowd. His reputation grew to the point where he didn’t have enough hours in the day to work full time and help fellow enthusiasts. At J&R Performance Center, Kyle continues the work he loves in this area. His attention to detail is second to none.
Rick has been doing GM Performance dating back to 1980. He studied and graduated from the Denver Automotive and Diesel College in May of 1982. After that, Rick worked for GM at both the corporate and dealership level. He was ASE and GM certified as a Technician (certs expired) and is still a GM Mark of Excellence certified Service Manager and Service Advisor. Rick has spent 28 years working for GM and GM dealers, holding positions as a technician, parts, and in service management over that period. He has also partnered in two other Performance shops which specialized in GM Performance. Rick has owned and built countless cars for himself and enjoys racing what he builds.
Teamwork
Kyle and Rick partnered up because we wanted to build the highest quality GM Performance cars available in Arizona. The team wanted to have the freedom to go racing whenever they wanted. Racing is in their blood and on the track, Kyle is the Crew Chief and Rick is the Driver. This passion for racing also allows them to support clients on the track.
We build relationships with our clients so that you’re more than just another sale. We strive to get to know you in order to build you a vehicle for your specific needs and desires.
We treat every client’s car as if were our own, so you can always count on high quality work. Unlike a lot of business owners out there, we reinvest in equipment, services and products. Kyle and Rick strive to stay current and use the best possible components. We test and evaluate the products we sell. We use them on our personally owned vehicles to ensure the quality and reliability of the products we sell and install. Currently in the J&R fleet we have a 4th, 5th and 6th Gen Camaros, a C6 GS Corvette and 2 Silverado’s. Other recently departed Fleet vehicles that we have owned for development and testing include a GTO, another 4th Gen, C5 and C6 Corvettes and an Escalade.
